Practice mute alto trombone

Hi all,

sorry if this has been asked before:
Any recommendations for an alto trombone practice mute?

I have one without any brand on it. I think it is originally a flugelhorn practice mute, but works quite well.
The disadvantage it has - as with many mutes - is a higher resistance and some intonation issues, especially in the higher register.

For tenor and bass I have the best brass mutes and they are working very well for me.

My wishlist:
- Lightweight
- Only minimal additional resistance
- Good intonation

Volume does not have to be reduced too much, thereby probably any practice mute would do here!

Maybe even going for something different like a cup or bucket mute?

Any input is welcome!

When in Boston, bring your horn over and I'll make one that does what you want.

Thanks for the offer. However living in Germany Boston is unluckily not on my travel schedule.

Anyway I have taken some ideas from the other thread on practice mutes which might help me regarding alto as well.
