Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and I've looked everywhere and can't find any info on this old trombone I have. It is a Besson Prototype A Class with "50 Medals of Honour" engraved in the banner. It has several other engravings on the bell and there is a weight on the back section of the bell section. (visible in attached pictures). The serial number is 10153. Can anyone give me any help with age and/or worth of this horn? There are no dents and the only thing is iffy is that the slide moves a little slow, still smooth though.

Don't expect to become independently wealthy from the sale of this thing.

Besson had a model called "Prototype" (nice way to confuse people, no?). These were professional level, but not terribly unique instruments.

They are also pretty dated and while they are often fun to play they aren't really popular nowadays.

And if it has a friction fit (no bell nut) it's even less popular.

In good shape? $100-300.
