Does anyone know what is going on with these valves? I've been hearing whispers of them. I've also heard there was a prototype at ITF this year. Did anyone happen to snag some pictures or even play it?

Yup!
Basically, each valve is half of the pathway. This way they only have to turn 60 degrees (or less?) and the port sizes can be pretty large for a small valve size.

You sure about that 60 degree part? The backside picture is too blurry to see any detail in the stop plates, but those look like single-passage 120 degree valves. Some double French horns (the King Eroica, for example) use a similar design, but with a one dual-plane valve rather than two single-plane ones.

I'm not sure about it at all! I do wish the pictures were less blurry.
