Yellowstone Vacation Ideas

Post by Neo Bri »

My wife and I are planning on taking a trip (very unusual) to Yellowstone and the surrounding environs for about 4 days in May. I'm looking for ideas about things to do around there, and if there are any musical must-visits within a few hours from there.

Looking forward to some ideas!

Not much to do out there.

unless you LIKE natural/outdoor phe·nom·e·na

My favorite geyser is Great Fountain Guyser
I like to check at the ranger's station before hand and get there an hour or two before schedule.

Yellowstone is beautiful, and a great place for seeing lots of wildlife in their natural habitat up close ( not “too” close!).

Not much music to hear in the immediate area, unless you’re there during the Grand Tetons Festival in the summer. Even that is not that close - you’ll be in the west, where there are lots of open spaces, and serious drives between towns, and the cattle outnumber the people.

Go hike, enjoy the sights, and don't rule out the Tetons, which are just around the corner.

Have a great time in my favorite corner of the planet!

About half a day's drive west in eastern Idaho is the Craters Of The Moon National Monument, an awesome volcanic landscape. Really cool to check out.

Funny, we already went, but we did pretty much all of these things. First stop was Grand Teton, which was pretty. I was worried about being mauled by bears.

Then Yellowstone, which wasn't all-the-way opened. Saw lots of cool volcanic stuffs.

Then we went to Craters of the Moon, which was eery. And very neat!

I am originally from Montana and always found Yellowstone crowded and kind of boring. I recommend Glacier National Park.
