Conn 88HO Open Wrap Professional Trombone
F attachment
8 1/2 Inch Rose Brass bell
.547 Large bore
Newer Vintage
No Dents and beautiful Clear Shiny Lacquer Finish
Superb Slide Action
When I grew up there were really only two good choices for a professional large bore trombone. My teacher guided my parents to choosing the Conn and every trobone I have played since has been designed with a Conn 88H influence. I think the sound is warmer and can be clored to the players taste. It can fill a hall, projecting over a large concert band or Orchestra and can still blend in a small chamber group. If you are going to play a large bore trobone in a jazz group, none will work better than this one.
This is a more recent version of mine- the F attachment has an open wrap design letting the valved notes play much more like the nonvalved ones than mine did. Almost all the high end trombones today are designed this way.
Absolutely no dents and a nice finish make this horn look as nicely as it plays. Slide is Fast free smooth and silent- about as good as they come.
Original case and Conn 5G mouthpiece complete the set in very good condition.
$1495 is about half price of new these days- this should be a wonderful trombone at a great value
I will ship to the lower 48 states for $60 and elsewhere by US Postal service for actual cost- Europe and Japan should expect to pay about $100- Australia about $120
