Rath R10 Tenor Trombone:

Specs:
750N 7.5 Inch nickel silver bell - brushed finish on the outside, clear lacquer on the inside.
Red brass tuning slide
Yellow brass neck pipe
.500 Bore nickel silver lightweight slide
10B Brass leadpipe (open taper)

One of the fastest responding horns I’ve ever played on. The bell is just fantastic! it’s on the heavier side so it can take up a lot of volume before breaking up. Really solid core and great projection, very good for lead playing as well as jazz soloing. The 10B pipe and the red brass tuning slide really open it up nicely and improve both slotting and response. This thing is FAST! Very even and consistent, articulates very clearly, high range is just ridiculously easy.

This has been my primary horn for about 18 months (June 2014 to December 2015) and my backup/commercial horn up until recently. I used it on a couple of musicals last year and took it on the Glenn Miller Orchestra tour of Australia this year. Needles to say, it performed beautifully. You can also hear this horn on Billy Childs’ new album on the track Rebirth, there’s a short trombone solo towards the end played by yours truly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkV2AUskoi0

Condition:
Like new. I take VERY good care of my horns, never eat and play and never smoke so this one is as clean as a horn can be! I also keep my slides dry when they’re not being used so there are no buildups from old lubricants. This slide is one of the best I’ve ever played on and is in perfect condition. No scratches anywhere, no dents. Lacquer is 99% perfect. There is a tiny spot of lacquer loss on the side of the tuning slide right above the bell (see photos). Believe it or not, this is how I originally received it!

Accessories:
I’ll ship the horn in a brown Eastman case (see photos).
Shoulder straps included. Mouthpiece is NOT included.
Note: I’m shipping the slide dry so oil it up before playing.

Price:
$3000 Including free packing, shipping and insurance. CONUS only.

Feel free to contact me if you live around Los Angeles, you can come by and try it out anytime!

If you live within 2 hours from downtown LA, I’ll personally drive to your house and deliver the horn myself.

I really hate to see this one go but I just have way too many horns and this one doesn’t deserve to be in a closet, it needs to be played on!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
