Hello Trombone friends!
A few of you may have seen me post about advice and struggles of academic careers... well, I'm happy to announce here that I have started a new position this Fall as the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Arkansas Monticello campus. In addition to directing two jazz ensembles I'm covering all the applied lessons for the brass studio, and managing a our MM in jazz studies program. This unique program is a one year hybrid online/in-person program designed for mid-career professionals looking to hone jazz skills or gain credentials needed for career advancement in education. Its structured to be affordable, and to allow you to achieve the degree without interrupting your schedule as a gigging or teaching musician.
We have generous scholarships available for music students, and a graduate assistantship for Masters applicants. Feel free to PM me if you would like further information.
