The inner pipes of my Bach 34 are starting to wear out. Is it possible to purchase new .522 pipes anywhere? I did test play with the inners of my corporation 36 with the outer slide of the 34. It fit surprisingly well and I could use the combo for a difficult concert program. Is this what people do if they have a good conn 78H or Bach 34 and need new inners; buy .525 pipes? Or does anyone sell .522 inner pipes?
Thank you for any advice!

Re: Bach 34 pipes
I don’t have a 36 handy and I’ve never bothered to measure the stockings, but I would not be surprised to learn that the outers were identical between them.
I would not hesitate to use available 525 tubes, the difference from piece-to-piece variation will be greater than the change from the slight bore tweak.
Cheers,
Andy

You're talking about the inner slide tubes, correct? Not the leadpipe?
Really the important number is the stocking outer diameter. There are no .522 tubes made anymore, that I'm aware of. A .525" tube would work just fine, as long as the stocking is the same OD.

Okay. So what you (or your tech) would need to do is measure the OD of the inner slide stocking on your original tubes, and compare that number to new .525" ID tubes.
