Rath Rotax Valve question

Hello.

Does anybody know what the story is behind the vertical brace on some of Rath's Rotax Valve sections.
Is it an option? Was it there originally then dropped? Was it not there originally and now it's become
standard? Has anybody tried and compared both versions of this Rotax valve section?
