Dating a King 2B

Good day esteemed trombone people,

I recently purchased a King 2B and like many before me, I'm trying to find out a manufacture date. Here are the clues and some info I have gathered from this forum:

Engraving outside of the bell

"King" and "2102" appear on the bell so 1980's or later

SN 411464 - no prefix

From serial number archives, I've found the following possibilities:

1965 - 1970 (not consistent with "2102" on bell)

1992 (where a preceding "42 411445" was linked via this document):
https://www.brasshistory.net/White%20Brass%20List.pdf
(no prefix on mine)

2016 (where a preceding "400791" (no prefix) was linked via same document)

So my best guess is 2016. Does this sound right? I was under the impression that it was older, like 1990's.

How about some pictures so the King experts could help. Counterweight, engraving, serial number, etc.

That list you linked is the first King serial number list I've seen that goes past 1975, that's a great resource. I need to change some of my logs for my Kings!

It's possible that the prefix number on your horn has faded away or been smudged/scratched over, but it's more likely that it's just a 2016 horn. Pictures would help!

That definitely looks like a 2016 horn to me.
