Translation of the post:
Hi, I'm not crazy about the sound that Bill Watrous has, but he undoubtedly has an enviable phrasing
the be bop phrasing has always intrigued and fascinated me, but I prefer it when it is used "sparingly" here and there during a solo and not a whole solo without even taking a breath
I prefer Watrous when he plays ballads

Wow, that bass player outdid Watrous! And I'm not talking about the music.

The multiphonics Watrous does are awesome

"That bass player" is Jennifer Leitham, when she was John Leitham.

Good to know, thanks Doug! A superb bassist who seemed to me to steal the show. Very entertaining! I'll check out their site.

I was referring, though, to the bassist's harcut in the video. I didn't think anyone could out-watrous Watrous' hair-doo. I was incorrect.

She's a wonderful bass player, who refuses to play electric bass (or, at least, she used to refuse). And she doesn't have a Watrous haircut anymore. LOL!

Leitham, whether John or Jennifer, has long been one of the best upright bassists around.
And she is certainly the best left-handed bassist on the planet!

Ditto on J. Leitham's greatness, based on personal playing experience long ago, on a planet far away...and then as an audience member since then, up through the pandemic.
