Hi all.

Has anyone had a chance to play the new A series Shires student trombone?

Generally looking for thoughts for students but also for my son.

Also any thoughts/experience with the case. It looks a bit clunky and possibly heavy?

If you're a diehard Shires guy, go for it. I, personally, don't see a reason to pay sticker price for an Eastman-built student horn other than that.

If it were me, I'd buy a used King 606 or YSL354 and pay a little to have it fixed up. Take your kid on an adventure with the left-over money.
