Interesting. I would've thought more. What are you specifically basing your value on?

Re: KING 2BSS value
I purchased an instrument of similar condition, earlier vintage, and with an F attachment (3BSS) not that long ago for more than that.
You can get an HN White 2B Silvertone from the 30's in immaculate condition for $3K, right now.

Ok well a 3BFSS is a totally different thing. 2B lovers, and there are a lot of them, are not interested in a 3B.harrisonreed wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 6:05 am I purchased an instrument of similar condition, earlier vintage, and with an F attachment (3BSS) not that long ago for more than that.

And 3K for a Silvertone is a LONG way from $1800. I'm guessing the vintage has more to do with it. Thx.

1800 is a solid real world estimate imo
Have bought and sold a few yea you could pay more or maybe sell more in a music store but second hand on a site like this or elsewhere 1600-2000 is probably the range and 1800 is a solid estimate

Yes, yours is not from 1937. Vintage is important.WGWTR180 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 6:43 amOk well a 3BFSS is a totally different thing.

But 2Bs and 3Bs generally price around the same, whether you like 3Bs or not. F attachment generally sells for more ... So if I paid more than $1800...
$1800. If you are "The Brass Exchange" or "Brass Ark" you maybe could get $2200 for the same horn.

Re: KING 2BSS value
I was going to say $1800-2000 based since I paid a few hundred less than that for a 40s 2B Silvertone not that long ago. The gold wash on mine is pretty worn and there are other cosmetic imperfections, not making it any less of a player of course, but if yours is very good to excellent with intact gold wash it would seem a reasonable place to start and invite best offers.
