American standard H.N White

Post by Hfan24 »

Hello trombone chat! I recently acquired a silver plated small bore straight tenor in great condition for 25 dollars!! it’s an “American Standard” by H.N White Co, and all I can find online about these trombones Is the serial numbers haha, according to the serial it should be from the 40’s. Possibly a student model from the time? I have bo clue…Anyone have knowledge to share on these horns?

“American Standard” was a student model marketed to marching bands and schools since the 1920s. They were about 40% less in price than a "King." Around 1962 the brand name "American Standard" was updated and changed to "Tempo."
