Dear all,
I found an old Toneking trombone from Keilwerth in the attic.

I would have liked to find out more information about the instrument. What I suspect is that a local music dealer and producer who has been around since 1850, wrote his name on the instrument “G. Hinteregger Wolfurt”. I assume he bought the instrument from Keilwerth and resold it with his name in his shop. There is no big series number on the trombone slide, just a “2”.

There is also no screw cap on this trombone to screw the slide to the bell.

Could anyone help determine the age and kind of trombone?

Keilwerth made jazz trombones in the 1950s and 60s, so that's one obvious possibility. One problem is that they at various times made stencil instruments for others and had others make stencil instruments for them.

There was also a legal battle, settled in 1955, between Keilwerth and the Amati consortium (of which Keilwerth had been part) over Amati's continued use of the Keilwerth logo and the "Toneking" model name. So this could also perhaps be an early 1950s Amati instrument.
