Martin Trombone

Hello, know absolutely nothing about instruments in general, however I clean out houses and re sell things.
I found a martin Trombone with the serial number of 139859 and can not find anything on it. I was hoping one of you professionals would know and advise value, etc..

Martin made several different trombone models in the 1940s. There should be a model name engraved into the bell, usually Committee, Dansant, Imperial, or Indiana on an instrument with that serial number. It may also say "Handkraft". If you can find some of those words somewhere it can help us help you.
Note that even the best of these won't be worth a lot. They play very well but are not terribly desirable in today's market. And if it's in bad condition it can be almost worthless.

Thank you...i could not make out the name besides martin ,standard, and Elkhart Indiana...but now that you said handkraft I believe that is it.
