Edwards bell section question

I just bought (and waiting for it to arrive) a Frankenhorn . It`s a Bach 16 (not 16M) slide with an Edwards Bell section.
From the pictures and talking with the previous owner, It a Non-Modular bell section.
I`ve never heard of this with Edwards. Did/do they make non-modular parts?

That bell section didn’t look edwards made, more like a hodgepodge of parts. The tuning slide legs were different lengths, and didn’t look too parallel.

May be just a bell, rather than a while bell section. Or could be a Getzen, which is made by Edwards and they misrepresented (intentionally or otherwise). Even if they never produced a solid state horn from the factory, and they may have, it would be pretty trivial for a good tech to remove the mounting hardware and replace with standard bracing.

I have a Yamaha 682 with a Shires 1G bell. It's not modular. It was a special setup due to having a friend working at Shires and a wrecked bell on my 682.
I'm sure that Edwards would do the same thing for the right person (or the right price).

I really doubt that. Why would they? Yours was not the normal situation, since you had an inside connection. Getzen are busy enough making their own stuff.

Some tech probably took and Edwards bell, Removed the posts and soldered on a little something to make a trombone. Most are capable and if you pay them they will do it.
