I just heard one of the best renditions of Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony this weekend.
The Maryland Symphony, conductor Elizabeth Schultze, has the low brass section of Liam Glendinning (1st), Jeff Gaylord (2nd), Kaz Kruszewski (Bass), Zach Bridges (Tuba).
It was a thrilling performance at the historic Maryland Theater in Hagerstown, MD.
Seriously excellent music making in every way. And a low brass section that 'did it'....musical, colorful, soft/loud, fantastic blending, etc. Just some seriously excellent section playing.
Note: Liam will be going places! He just got this job fresh out of Northwestern Univ. graduate school. Good genes in the family (son of Andrew Glendinning). I can say that I got to hear him 'when'!

Thanks for the kind words! The whole brass section was on fire, and it was the first time all season we had our regular low brass section.
