Hello,

as a boy of 12 y in 1957 I got this trombone and I still play und love it very much.
Now I need another slide (the 3rd one). My questtion now is: What bore size is it?

Searching the TromboneChat, in a chat of 2013 I found the
"Boosey & Hawkes Imperial Bb/F trombone with serial number 5068xx of around 1972
with a bore size of ".523 inch" and a bell of 8 inches".

As my bell size is definitively smaller and my trombone has no F-attchmt, it should
be a different model ie. version.

Could anyone here kindly give me the correct official bore size of my trombone?

Without seeing any pictures of the trombone, it is difficult to be sure of the model, but if it has a bell diameter of around 7 to 7.5 inches, then the bore is probably 0.487in. If the bell is smaller, around 6 to 6.5 in, then the bore could be around 0.460in. If you could provide some photos, it may be possible to be more specific.

Enclosed, please find 3 pictures, - if I manage to attach them, - of significant features
of my trombone. It is silver plated in- and outside and relatively heavy, compared to
my other trombone with an F-attchmt, - a Bach.

The bell-diameter is 6.85 in = 17,4 cm, so the bore size may be 0.487in to 0.460in.

When my parents bought it for me secondhand, they were told, it very likely originated
from the Canadian military brass band, which was stationed in Dortmund, Germany, at
that time.

Do you have perhaps any more information about this model and Boosey & Hawkes ?
