Good brass shops in san diego?
Hi, I am a trombonist in San Diego, California, and I am looking for a place to purchase a lead tenor trombone for jazz is there a store anywhere in San Diego that has a wide selection of brass instruments?

Bertrand's Music seems to be one of the bigger shops in your area.
(Located in Rancho Penasquitos, Poway, and San Marcos).
Other fine retailers in the Los Angeles area, but that's a bit of a drive for you.
If you don't need to try before you buy, you can often get some good deals on new and used trombones on line.

If you go to Bertrands, go to the PQ one and ask for Daniel. He's the store manager and a trombone player.

To answer the question on selection available, I've only seen a couple trombones at Bertrands at any one time. But maybe that is all that is on display, and more is available to try. I've never asked

Give San Diego County Music Exchange up in Vista a call. They usually have some good stuff on consignment.
Bertrand's brought a decent selection of instruments to last year's SoCal Trombone Day, but they may or may not be indicative of what they have at any particular location.
I don't know if anyone has much of a selection in stock these days. It seems that inventories are slim everywhere. I was looking the hornguys.com website today and it looks like Steve doesn't have any bass trombones in stock.
