He says its a 525 which i want but im seeing all small bore specs when i look it up.
Were there any 18H's made with .525???

18H = .500" bore
75H/76H/78H/79H = .525"
Slides do not interchange either.

An 18H Dorector is a .500 bore.
The 50H Director has a .522 bore and an f-attachment.

If he says he measured it, find out where he measured...

18H director can also have a 0.485" bore.

Good point. The person could have measured the outside of the inner slide at the non-stocking area. The stocking outside diameter for many Conn .500 bore horns is about .529 or .530.

I don't think Conn ever made any 0.525" bore trombones.
The 78H and 79H were 0.522" bore. (Small difference, I know.)
14H "Director" and 18H Coprion "Director" were 0.484" bore.
Both were student model instruments.

Isn’t the medium bore 8H slide a 525?

Should be a .525 bore on the sl2525 and sl2547 slides I sometimes see on 8H and 88h. I think the 52h is also a .525 slide…maybe a newer thing for Conn instruments? I really like the way the 8h plays with a .525 slide…

Note that Trav1s has given you 4 additional 0.525" models to take a cork barrel from.

I mistyped in haste... thanks for catching that.
That being said, there were later 79H that were .525" horns. IIRC they were made in Cleveland and sourced King parts for the side. There was some major discussion on the TromboneForum about those horns.

And of course in my own haste, I neglected the SL2525 and SL2547 slides that Conn now makes for large-bore tenors, such as the 88H. Oops!
