Conn 88H Leadpipe help.

Hi guys.

Just bought a job lot of the Conn 88 leadpipes the SL slides. Really happy!

But. . . Has anyone seen or got an “E” pipe. I’ve seen M, s, R, bass C and D, and the medium bore ones H, T and the X for large in a 25, BUT, I’ve never seen an E before.

Anyone know what it is?

Is it a B that has the curves worn off?

That was also my thought... I have the sets for 547 and 562, no "E" included, but some letters that could easily be interpreted differently. I currently don't use any of them, but play the MK Drawing GR tenor and bass leadpipes. (On my Elkhart 88h I have a modern standard slide without interchangeable leadpipes)

Could it be a pipe from some other source which is marked as E for Elkhart?

Cheers

How is that GR tenor pipe?

The MK GR tenor leadpipe for me made the overall feel a bit more open. Tried it in yellow (?), red and bronze brass and settled on bronze. Yellow for me made it to direct. For me the bronze GR leadpipe in the end feels like maintaining the 88h sound, but just with a bit more openness/a bit more of it. Same applies for my 112h bell/62h slide combination.

I actually use an Alessi pipe in my 88H. 🫣

Here is the E.

Maybe it’s a misprint? But it looks like a n E to me.

A B presumably won’t fit in the tenor So il try later.

It's a B pipe. There was no E pipe from Conn.

Standard Conn Bass pipes were B, C and D.

Doesn’t fit the tenor so I think you guys have it right!
