The role of the trombone in a Klezmer band is similar to the role of the trombone in a Dixieland ensemble. The trombone generally is part of the background offering bass notes if needed or countermelodies when appropriate. Not unlike the role of the Euphonium in a concert band.
I don't know of any book to describe how to play Klezmer trombone. I'd recommend you listen to a bunch of recordings. Especially the Klezmer Conservatory Orchestra.

Yep, I definitely get that vibe from klezmer. When I first heard it I immediately thought of something that had its roots buried in Dixieland with a mix of religion and such. Gonna take a look at that klezmer orchestra. Thanks!

Check out Dan Blacksburg's work. He's truly great at it and really has mastered playing a leading role. It seems like Klezmer is most of what he does, including running a Klezmer ensemble at Temple University.
Dan's also a sweet heart with a very good zoom set up (unless you live in Philly). Hit him up- he'd be a great resource.
