Which hotel is it just out that back gate?  The gate down the hill past the chapel, into the Rosslyn area?

There were rooms available on post a couple of days, but not Thursday. 

Not sure about that one, but last time I went, I did Priceline and ended up at the Key Bridge Marriott for pretty cheap - under $100 a night.

Red Roof Inn, Alexandria, for Friday Night: $60.47 including taxes, Smoke-free King.  Good Luck.

Last time I traveled there for work, I stayed in Rosslyn and when I walked up to post for the meetings, I noticed I passed a hotel right by the back gate - not the 2cnd street where visitors go in, nor the Henry Gate by the Days Inn that they don't open anymore, but the gate down the hill. 

I was hoping somebody remembered which one that was.  Virginia Suites?  Sheraton?  I have government ID and can go in any gate. 

Maybe check out Google Maps. Usually shows points of interest, including hotels.

The Virginian Hotel and Suites?  It is a nice enough place to stay and is very convenient to the Wright Gate but it's kind of a hike from the Wright Gate to Brucker Hall.
