Vintage Trombone Oil

Post by Chalker4 »

My sister found this survivor in an antique shop in French Lick, Indiana and kindly got it for me. I checked on the address in Indianapolis and the structure there has been a private residence for many years. So, I guess Mr. Kisler made this stuff in his basement / garage.

Union label on the bottom is neat! Cool find. Have you tried it out on any of your slides?

I wouldn't. It probably can't hold a candle to any of the stuff we use today.

Besides, often the lubricity of oil decreases with age.

It's an interesting artifact. Leave it at that.
