Should make no difference at all.

None - any manufacturer sends them out marginally undersized (within 2 or 3 thou, hopefully, but I've seen much smaller) so that they get in and out smoothly, esp on horns where the pipe has been pulled and maybe not every last trace of solder has been cleaned out. If you/your tech later decide to v slightly expand the end for a closer fit, that's easily done.

As the person who bought your 32H pipe, I can say that I still prefer my Kanstul H8. (The 32H isn't bad at all, though - just heads in a different direction :good: )

Depends what you want from it. It sounds most like a 16M with the original pipe, super flexible but quirky up top in both response and intonation, H8 is generally a bigger sound, somewhat more open but with more predictable high slotting, potentially sloppy if you get lazy, 32H much more focused and with a much narrower/controlled articulation. YMMV, &c.

Once a little gunk builds up, you won't notice a difference

Seriously though, I didn't even give it a thought.

It looks like I can get a new Bach pipe for about $40 or so. The slide is about 40 years old and the mpc no longer seats without a wobble. I’ve got a few wraps of Teflon tape around the shank of the mpc at present but am thinking about replacing the lead pipe.
