Fitting Bach 50 tuning slide to Holton Bass

Hi all,
Just curious, what would be the procedure to modify a Bach 50 tuning slide to a Holton Bass?
I assume the first would be to remove the cross brace.
The legs seem to be identical in circumference.
The Holton is a few cm wider...

If it's for a TR 181 or 183, buy a tuning slide bow from Conn Selmer. Remove the original bow and put in the new bow. Make sure the legs are the same diameter, otherwise just buy the parts for a tuning slide from Conn Selmer and sell the Bach slide.

Not an easy task to change the shape of the crook to match the horn.

I would like to be able to use, interchangeably with a 169 and 183 - I had a 180 that had a Bach 50 tuning slide that markedly changed how the horn behaved!

If the span is wrong, it would probably be easier to just change the span of the bell/bell section than change the tuning slide.
I have previously had a 180 that fit 50 tuning slides, but my current 185 does not.

Holtons and Bachs vary a lot...I've had Holton tuning slides that didn't fit in other Holtons and I've had Bach tuning slides that fitted right into a Holton. All this is fixable, especially with 169 and 183 Holtons that have a crossbar on their tuning slides. No big deal for a good tech.

He wants to use the Bach 50 tuning slide. Not something else.

Yep, I just thought this was a case of having a Bach tuning slide and a tuning slide less Holton. Just wanted to give the easiest solution, in case they couldn't see the forest for the trees.

Actually the easiest solution is just using the Bach tuning slide.
