I just heard a nice arrangement of Nestico's "Freckle Face" on YouTube (link below).
I'd really like to try my hand at arranging a bone quartet version of this tune and having a fake book version (chords and melody) would go a long way in getting me started. Does anyone know where I can find this?
I've done the Google thing but the info I'm getting is inconclusive. There's the Hal Leonard Real Jazz Fake Book and the Sammy Nestico Fake Book but I can't tell if either has Freckle Face included. I have the Real Jazz Fake Book (6th edition) but Freckle Face isn't in it.
I know I could probably get what I need by just listening but I really suck at that and what I end up with may not be totally accurate and a ton of extra work. So any help locating this piece would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Robert

or page 22 in [presumably a copyright violation], in which the bar 4, beat 3.5, quarter note should be an F, not a G

Why not start with the real thing, the big-band arrangement?

The play along looks good. Thanks for pointing it out. I may invest in this at a later date.ithinknot wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 3:25 pm In here https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/sa ... c/19898646

As it turns out I was able to find the Nestico Fake Book vol. 1 for sale online, which has Freckle Face in it, and that's all I need. Plus I get to play around with more Nestico music as well.
I also thought about purchasing the big band version here:

which would have been beneficial for a few reasons but I just didn't want to spend that much $$ for a bunch of music that I might not ever use beyond this arrangement I'm working on. Besides I can hear how Basie did it on YouTube.
Thanks for the suggestions,
Robert
