holding a valve trombone

I never play mine because I can't figure out how to hold it.

Then I saw this video:


and I thought he looked pretty relaxed.

Then I got to thinking: young fit kid, yet he keeps switching grips. Maybe he has the same trouble I do.

off topic: 6 valve Helicon? any body got information on that?

it's pretty easy, actually. wrap your left hand around the valve cluster, using the right hand steady the instrument. walk to the nearest open dumpster or large trash can and release.

Never seen one with 6 valves. But you wear a Helicon just like you would wear a Sousaphone.

And if it has a Tonwechsel, you adjust that before you start playing and leave it alone.
