Does anybody know if this Paul Tanner arrangement of Makin' Whoopee is available for purchase anywhere?

I don't remember if it's this one, but there is a bass trombone feature of "Makin' Whooppee" out there. One of the bands I play in has it, but they don't start rehearsing until September. I'll try to look then.

I think you are talking about the Wolpe arrangement. It's good, but not quite as juicy as the Tanner arrangement as recorded by GR.

I don't think a lot of the "juicy" parts in the performance were written in the arrangement. You can do a lot to the tune to spice it up within a pretty stock arrangement.

I meant that the band behind the soloist was juicier.

The most prominent "Makin' Whoopee" charts featuring trombone are arranged by Dave Barduhn (bass), Dave Wolpe (bass), and Thad Jones (Al Grey, tenor). These I have or can find. Let me know if you need locating any of these.

I've never seen the one presumably transcribed by Dave Tanner (George Roberts, bass).

The Wolpe is my favorite so far. It leaves a lot of room for add ons. Course I'm partial to nice low parts.
