Bob Scannapieco, aka Bobby Scann, RIP

Post by Doug Elliott »

I just heard that my friend Bobby Scann died yesterday in Las Vegas.

I knew him in DC in the 70's when he played lead trombone in the Army Blues. He spent most of the time since then in Las Vegas.

I just talked to him a week ago...

Bummer. I never met him, I don't think. Sorry to hear that just the same.

I’ve known Bobby for a number of years a great guy excellent trombonist and a great writer as well. We first met at the 100 Trombone plus thing at UNLV year ago. I will miss him very much. We talked about 2 weeks ago.

His Christmas music books are excellent! If you don’t have them you should find a copy somewhere!
