Yamaha Rotor Cap

Post by disco »

The kid’s school has a single valve bass, probably a 321 and it’s missing the rotor cap. Anyone know where to get one?

Yamaha’s current bass rotor cap should be compatible. I tried it on a YBL-612, which should have the same rotor cap as the 322.

Yamaha Rotor Cap

The rotor should not be touching the the
terminals on the cap, wrong parts? End play on
the distributor shaft? Incorrect install ?
Take it off and have a look inside,

Double check the original horn first. If it's a Yamaha 321, the valve (at least on the 2 that I have) is quite small (and tight). The later 620 and 322 had larger valves.

You can order parts direct from Yamaha. Go to www.yamaha24x7.com and click on US Consumers. Doesn't cost anything to create an account. I've ordered parts from there before with no problems.

That site does not list the YBL-321 model, but it does have the YBL-322. The rotor cap is Yamaha part #D3442010 and it's the same part on the YSL-682, YSL-682G and the YSL-448G tenors. They show it in stock for $13.98

Usually bass rotors are not 562, th big exception is the King 6B. So you probably are looking for .593 bore. What horn is it? Do you have a te ch who will do the work? They are probably the best person to ask.
