Screen and audio capture software

Post by AndrewMeronek »

Does anyone have experience with creating videos of computer software? I'd like to create some playback videos, and there's lots of screen capture software offered online.

But, I don't trust Google results without independent verification on the quality of software. Thus, if anyone uses such software, please share. :)

I just tried out a demo of Movavi, and hated it due to the demo popping up IE screens advertising it. If your product doesn't sell itself, IE popups certainly won't help. :x

Cool, I'll give that one a try. I've seen some other references to it, too.

I've used Snagit in the past. It's a nice software, but it is kind of pricey. If you plan to use it a lot it's definitely worth it.

I'm playing with OBS Studio right now. Looks promising.

I may soon be looking for some basic video editing software, too. :)

Ah, looks like I can make some basic video edits like frame cuts and cropping the image in VLC Media Player.

edit:

This idea sucked. VLC Media Player doesn't really do this correctly.

You'll have to use some serious video editing software, probably.

The first video result, for anyone who might be interested. I am using OBS Studio to create the screen capture videos, and editing them with OpenShot Video Editor. More to come.

Damn, OpenShot is buggy as hell. I don't recommend it.

I'm now taking recommendations for video editing software.

The video re-edited, this time with Shotcut. Much better.
