I have a DeBruycker bell that has Williams-style braces. The horn is a bit nose heavy and I’d like to put a counterweight on it. Unfortunately, my Shires counterweight doesn’t fit (won’t tighten down) and a Conn counterweight that I bought seems to be lost in transit.
Any suggestions?
Williams, counterweights etc.

Re: Williams, counterweights etc.
The Williams balances if you hold the horn right under the slide lock. DeBruycker was close but still didn't balance. Do you know how much weight you need to balance it out? You can use fishing weights to see just what you need. They are easy to add and remove the weights until you get the right balance. Then have one made by your local repair guy that fits your horn and is the right weight.

Actually, the old Conn c/w (once it showed up nearly 2 months after it was mailed) fits nearly perfectly.
