Closet Clean Out/Moving Sale! A handful of horns and hybrids

Post by ttf_Amconk6 »

I find myself moving, and trying to downsize.  Time to clean out the closet:

Cool Winds Bb/F Plastic Trombone - $75 plus $25 shipping USA
I bought this on eBay a while back, it's a rebranded version of the Tiger Trombone that came out a while back.  Fun toy.  Takes a large shank mouthpiece.  Comes in a light gig bag. Rotor works well, handslide is functional.  These plastic slides are nothing to write home about but they're functional.

Frankenbone Bb/F $125 plus $25 shipping ($50 with case) USA
I built this monstrosity out of parts.  Mostly to practice my solder work.  It actually turned out okay.  The bell is adapted from an old King 605.  The tuning slide is from an Eastman medium bore.  The F-trigger and tubing is Bach 42 NOS parts.  The handslide is from the Eastman.  It's .525 bore. This thing has a unique sound.  The slide needs work, but functions.  It's playable.  The rotor works well.  Buy it for a novelty, or use it for parts.  The Bach parts alone are worth it.  Ships without a case, or I can throw it in an Olds case that has had the guts ripped out to make it fit, but it'll cost a bit more to ship.

Schiller Studio .525 Bore straight horn $200 plus $50 shipping USA
I bought this for my wife to play, but she never really took to it.  I bought it from Jim Laabs.  It's actually a decent horn.  The slide works well, nice and smooth, the construction is top notch, and the horn plays well.  A bit stuffy with smaller mouthpieces but throw a Schilke 51C4 in there and you get a good sound.  In like-new condition with minor handling.  Buy it for a backup horn, or to use for around town gigs where you don't want to use your good axe.

King Tempo/605 Hybrid $125 plus $50 shipping USA
This is a fun one!  Made out of leftover 605 parts, and a nickel Tempo bell.  It's a great little pea-shooter.  The slide is decent with lube, could probably use a trip to a tech to make it really good.  It has a bit of stocking wear. There is some scarring from the bell transplant.  The gooseneck is stripped of lacquer.  Comes in a nice king case.  This is a scream for lead jazz parts!

York Baritone $50 plus $50 shipping USA
An old York Bell-front baritone that I picked up years ago.  Valves work well, they got new springs a few years ago.  Lots of wear and dings and creases from years of use.  Case is not pretty, but functional.  The screws that hold the bell in place need a bit of work.  Either longer screws or some massaging to the bell collar to make them hold a little tighter.  Plays fine.  Good old traditional sound. Perfect for tuba christmas choir, or a kick-around toy.

Feel free to make me an offer on this stuff, I needs it gone.  Please send all correspondence to ][email protected]

Please don't use the PM system here on the site, it never works right for me, and I've had some missed messages in the past.

All horns will ship fedex with tracking.  Sorry, but I'm currently not offering international shipping due to some past problems.
