Please read first! In the spirit of free trade, I subscribe to the principle of caveat emptor. It always bugs me when people chime in on other folks' advertisements with opinions. Particularly, when its their opinions on what they think pricing should be or negative reviews of a particular item. That being said, please refrain doing so on this post. Thanks for looking!

One owner before me. All original.
Excellent condition 90-95% lacquer, some wear at contact points
Slide: 8.5/10 (or better) No stocking wear.
Original case (fair) & 3B mouthpiece (good).
Full disclosure:
Best playing 83H I've playedone of the "good ones".
The Slide Doctor says, "...slide looks good; Could use a tune-up for even better action."
It's in excellent playing and cosmetic condition and ready to play; I just had it chemically cleaned and professionally serviced.
In terms of playing characteristics, the Conn 83H "Artist Symphony" bass trombone is very versatile with the classic Conn sound. With dual independent rotors, it can be played in Bb, F, G, and Eb. So, that yields many alternate positions and an extended low rangeincluding "the low B." It's at home in orchestral, band, or jazz/commercial settings. It will give a big, dark, symphonic sound, or it can bark when you need it to. The 83H can really shine in a jazz band and would be great for bass 'bone ballads. I even used this horn the tenor trombone role in my quintet, when I didn't have access to another horn.
It is getting hard one in all original condition with accessories, such as this. So, here's your chance to own a rare piece of Conn history and own a great playing bass trombone. This will be going up on eBay and other eCommerce sites. So get your TTF discount by buying here.
Returns are accepted within 5 days from the date the buyer receives the item. The full purchase price of the item will be refunded to the buyer, minus the the reimbursement of initial shipping costs to the seller. The buyer is responsible for return shipping. So if you're not happy, you can return it.
p.s. I might consider a trade for a Bach 50B or one of its variants (single, dual, dependent, independent, etc.)an ugly one will probably be fine.

Not sure what your disclaimer was about. I've not seen too many posts in this sub-forum denigrating asking prices.
All that said, I think this is excellent condition and offered at an great price.

And you're right. I've not seen an excessive amount this, but the few I have bothered me all the same. I recall two recently. One occurrence, was someone selling one of the Eastman-Shires Bass Trombones (new I think); Someone chimed in about a dealer who had it significantly cheaperthe prices are inconsistent on the the market. The other instance was someone selling a used mouthpiece that had been bought for a trial and didn't work out (otherwise like new). So, it was slightly discounted. And another member pointed out a online dealer selling new for a comparable price.
I appreciate Forum members looking out for each other, especially against scammers. However, undercutting others' sales is another thing altogether. I'm not sure if these two occurrences were attempts at keeping the sellers honest or to drive down the price to purchase for themselves. In either case, I PM or email would be the appropriate route and certainly less rude. Okay, I'm stepping off the soap box now.

Glad to give you a laugh. And you'll probably get a snicker from my reply above as well.

As a public forum, I think you have to put up with people's opinions. OTJ is the place for you if you don't like the peanut gallery.
There have been some comments with less than positive opinions about this model by prominent folks. Personally I'd like to give this horn a shot, but my days of trying out basses are over. This is a worthy instrument. But whining about opinions is a little disingenuous on an open forum. But that's just my unsolicited opinion.

Actually, I agree with you. That's why I love TTF: I like hearing people's differing opinions about all topicsinstruments, compositions, recordings, technology, food, etc. Some of the heated debates can be quite entertaining and often more intelligent than reality TV (also an opinion). However it's my opinion, and it is just an opinion, that classifieds should be for commerce. That being said, I've never experienced it personally; I've just witnessed a few instances, including the two referenced previously. And those two occurrences weren't opinions being expressed, but rather factually stated price comparisons. If I recall correctly one included a link to an eCommerce site with the item in question.
However in retrospect, I probably should have limited my post to just advertising my wares and not stating my opinion about the potential undermining of free trade. So, I do sincerely appreciate your opinion on opinions. Another positive side-effect of TTF, is having others hold the mirror up for you to have a look at yourself. Thanks!
