Trombone Timbre question

Hello Everybody,

Is it normal for me to feel back pressure when playing? I've recently tried a new mouthpiece and it felt more free blowing but causes me to have a much brighter sound. I like the dark sound from the mouthpiece before, but I'm afraid the back pressure thing is not good? Any similar experiences or suggestions?

Have you had someone listen to you play both...as the sound in front of the bell is always different from what you hear!
