Hey there TromboneChat!
I'm a history student and a comic artist writing a graphic novel about the trombone for my thesis project this year! The project is a history of the trombone as a solo instrument in Cuban music I'd would love any recommendations on the following artists (Generoso Jiménez, JP Torres, Lazaro Gonzalez, Alberto Batista, Hugo Morejón, or more recent players like Ariel Guillot, Eduardo Sandoval, etc).
I'm also very new to playing trombone myself, so I'm also looking for any background resources on how trombone works within Cuban music to add to my reading list. I hope to understand the music well by the end of my research.
Also, if you've seen any great art with/of trombones that you think could inspire the piece, please let me know!
Thank you!
