Morceau Symphonique full orchestra part?
Which version of morceau with full orchestra is the best/most often used? I need include a link to the full orchestra part on a solo contest signup.

Guilmant or Gaubert?
They're both available on IMSLP:

Full orchestra parts are available from Sheet Music Plus. Not terribly expensive.

Judging by what I've seen from Sheet Music Plus, probably not very correct either. YMMV.

The original was written for trombone and piano (or maybe organ). Any orchestration was done after the fact (and probably still under copyright).
My only recording of this is with Christian Lindberg, who wrote his own orchestration.

I bought the Sheet Music Plus parts and we used them in my orchestra for a young soloist. Worked fine. My complaint was about part counts not matching the listing, and as a result they sent me a second package at no charge.Doug Elliott wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 9:25 pm Judging by what I've seen from Sheet Music Plus, probably not very correct either. FWIW, the oldest recording I have is Henry Charles Smith with the Philadelphia orchestra. Don't know who made their arrangement.
