Olds Recording Counterweight
Hi all, I’m looking for solutions to add a counterweight to my Olds Recording R-15. Let me know if anyone has some suggestions!

Type "counterweight" in the search bar above for relevant results and suggestions. Personally, I like the counterweight from early Olds Ambassadors; it solders onto the inside crook of the tuning slide. I put one on my Olds Studio, and I like the result.
Current instruments:
Olds Studio trombone, 3 trumpets, 1 flugelhorn, 1 cornet, 1 shofar, 1 keyboard
Previous trombones:
Selmer Bundy, Marceau

I’ve seen those as a possibility, but I prefer the type that attach to the tuning slide crossbrace

I was able to borrow one of those. Had a foundry cast a copy then had it lacquered and engraved by a local tech. Definitely not the cheapest way to do it, but a satisfying project.Arendsdale wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 1:20 pm I’ve seen those as a possibility, but I prefer the type that attach to the tuning slide crossbrace
The gentleman who lent me his counterweight was a total stranger who lived a long way from me and saw a Facebook post I did here in England. The fellowship of the slide at work!
