IMO? Any of them will work. I keep a tenner in my stock Bonna, and I have another tenner in an Eastman. I've never had a problem fitting them in any normal bass case.

Look for German cases, for example https://www.thomann.de/de/kuehnl_hoyer_ ... ombone.htm

Takes my Kruspe 250 mm and my Conn 112H with Hagmann just fine.

Look for the previous thread on this that I started - looking for a case for a Yamaha w/a 10" bell. There were a lot of helpful replies. I ended up with a Bags of Spain (used) case that fits it like a glove. Bam cases also fit a larger bell. Bonna also has a large bell version of their bass cases. I think you can squeeze it into their regular bass cases, but It was suggested to me by a retailer that carries the MB cases, that the larger case was probably worth looking for (same price) for added protection in case of a mishap.

My Kariso is an older model and it has nothing to attach straps to.

Kariso do not offer trombone cases with straps

A ProTec ProPac PB309CT case is of generous proportions (it swallows my 50B2). If you need specific dimensions, PM me.

This is not quite correct. Kariso offers their trombone cases with straps. It´s not convenient to carry a wooden case on the bag, but straps can be ordered. I have a Kariso case for tenor and for bass trombone with straps.

Really? I (obviously) wasn't aware of that. Could you post a photo of 2, please?

It’s not really a comfortable solution, but at short distances it works to carry the case on my back. That’s a tenor case here, but it looks the same for the slightly bigger bass trombone case.

That looks like it could be improved relatively simply with a) some sort of more comfortable straps and b) some sort of cushion in the back. That could make an oldschool style, but very stable and reliable, yet well useable case.

Certainly! That’s what came with the cases from Kariso. The main point is certainly the possibility to fix straps to the wooden case.

Thanks Peter.
I will keep that in mind as an option for my next Kariso order. 🙂

They're expensive, but it's hard for me to recommend anything but the newest Marcus Bonna cases in 2024. They're both protective, lightweight, and very ergonomic. Chronkhite-style cases (I think Torpedo owns them now) and Superfine gig bags are also pretty comfortable and reasonably protective for a gig bag. I have a Chronkite "flight" case, which has a separate slide holder... an arrangement that I prefer to putting the slide inside the same compartment as the bell. TBH, I could be persuaded to sell it to fund an MB case. I've been kicking that idea around, especially since all my bass bells are cut bells at this point.
