Recognize bracing?

Post by Chazzer69 »

Not a lot to go on but hoping someone might be able to identify the make of a horn with this type of slide bracing?

Chrome slide grip looks Holton to me, but that's not a given.

I had an old Holton 65 with similar bracing if I recall.

Also matches my Conn 40H (which is 0.500"; 38H is 0.480" and 42H is 0.522" -- all with similar slides).

For those of you who provided replies and might be interested, this turned out to be a Conn 24H. The serial number puts it at 1929. I presume this is a 'Ballroom' model. The bell engraving is almost non-existent and until I found the "24H" stamp, I couldn't confirm it was a Conn. Makes me think it's been refinished, but it was a long time ago if so. Just thought I'd share.

It's challenging to get a solid feel for it because it needs some slide work, but it has a surprisingly warm tone for such a tiny horn and becomes only slightly edgy when I push it. No problems with slotting. It will probably be a pretty sweet little horn once I get it in usable condition.
