Big Band Stands
I like this 24” Standard Polybandstand from https://polybandstand.com/#bandstands
https://polybandstand.com/#bandstands
But this company is on shut down.
I also like the $49 price.
Anyone know of other suppliers with a similar product and good price?
I only need 5 stands.

Do you happen to know how long they've been shut down? As some indication of how long before they might open again, since there's no indication on the website.

Yeah, I saw that before I posted. Not the question I asked.

Re: Big Band Stands
Back in March, they had this message up:
EDIT: Some cursory googling doesn't turn up any info on the company, but (based on results from The Wayback Machine) it looks like they've been around a while.
Whitbey, if you don't need the stands right away, you might want to give 'em a week or two. Otherwise, the Humes and Berg "SWING-IT" stands look to be somewhat similar.
I get the feeling they're a really small operation...WE WILL BE CLOSED 3/11 - 3/19 FOR SPRINGBREAK VACATION

Re: Big Band Stands
I have the Humes& Berg and they look very similar.
There aren't enough different pictures on the Polybandstand site to see what they really look like.

They're OK but I have the short ones and nobody likes reading so far away.
These are one piece, the desk is attached and folds with it.
What I really want is just a front that hides a Manhasset.

Re: Big Band Stands
Polybandstand is going to be open soon. They are going to get me 5 - 24" white stands in a month. They are upgrading some equipment and are still not full speed for a while.
They responded faster then the place that was open.
A story of the slowest.
Around 1975 when I was still in High School I ordered a Miraphone mouth piece from the music store. Never showed up. Until…. About 1993. The music store had changed hands twice. I just happen to be at the music store looking at sheet music and a box appeared from UPS. They opened the box as it was from Germany and in the box was the mouthpiece I ordered. I overheard this and told my friend the owned the store about the order. He gave me the mouthpiece. So remember; when someone tells you the music biz is slow, know that it is normal and 18 years is slow.

Re: Big Band Stands
A group I play in recently ordered from TatiHouse / musicstandbanners.com
While not at all a traditional big-band style stand, it looks pretty good. Use it with whatever stand you want... I guess except for that double-wide above.
Being cloth, it folds up and is very lightweight to lug around (fits in my gig bag next to the slide).

Re: Big Band Stands
Those banners look like they're not very compatible with stand lights.

Nor perhaps trombone slides held near-horizontally?Doug Elliott wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 2:51 pm Those banners look like they're not very compatible with stand lights.

Good morning,
Just a note to let you know that www.polybandstand.com is not closed. Not sure who told you that?
The 32" is preferable for adults and older students and musicians!
Have a beautiful day!
