do anyone know anything on this model GG292L Gagliardi ? made by Weril price ? also is this a proffesional model is 9 1/2 gold brass bell, independent valve open wrap .3 lead pipe 562 bore?
What about the Wessex bass trombones? They look preatty nice and cost just a fraction of a Bach og Conn, but are they any good?
I'm assuming they won't hold up against a good used Bach 50, but those are hard to come by, so I'm considering buying a Wessex for fun and doubling in the future
Also check out the John Packer JP333 Rath Bb/F/Gb/D bass trombone. Cheaper, better and available! My friend has just bought one and loves it. It works in both Big Band and orchestral settings.

I remember a neighbor who sold a Pontiac Bonneville that had a sign on the windshield that said "Wednesday Car". It intimated that by the middle of the week the workforce was "back in the swing" of doing what Detroit could very often do well in achieving what was ---- to build a great car. Mondays and Fridays were to be avoided. I don't think that there is much difference between cars and trombones except that you drive one and you blow the other ! In fact , with all the variables involved it should be a no-brainer to test drive [audition] the unit in question. I've encountered trombones with no leadpipe installed [Monday horn ?] and cars with no grease on the wheel bearings [Friday car ?]. And then ----- it has to fit the peculiarities of whomever is going to be its custodian for the next several decades. It is NOT a whole lot different than properly choosing your human companion for the next few decades, either ! No other's opinion matters more than YOURS ! Keep up the enthusiasm !

I have actually attempted a Wessex bass trombone and also was pleased by its top quality and also playability. The noise is abundant as well as full-bodied plus the slide activity is smooth. While not on par with a premium-duty Bachelor's Degree or Conn it's a wonderful worth. Perfect for those intending to attempt bass trombone without damaging the financial institution.

Gee, thanks for your abundant insight!

Greetings to everyone, first of all I apologize for any errors, but since I know little of the language I have to opt for the online translator, I'm sorry about this. I recently signed up to the forum, thank you for accepting me, now by chance I find this discussion which concerns me a little and I take the liberty of intervening to "break a spear" in favor of Weril, because;
I own a Weril bt gg294 that I purchased from a local seller after he left it to me to test for a few days, I immediately noticed the at least good construction quality, without too many details and embellishments but concrete, to the touch it seemed solid, well built and quite heavy, 5.96 pounds, I liked the fact that it had 4 screw-in torches and a huge bell, compared to others I had seen and tried, 10,47", which opens up the sound in breadth. Initially, 2 years ago, it was very similar to that of a Bach 42 sterling silver c.w. that I own, now over time it begins to take on a voice of its own that my ear hears more complete, with more harmonious and soft, which I personally like a lot.
Unfortunately, having problems with breathing, for which I am investigating with medical tests, I find the use of the 5th valve sometimes difficult, so much so that I thought the instrument was not responding well. I then had it tested by a professional bt who did not find anything other than the fact that it needs to be vented as it is practically still new since I play it little, depending on the time available. Following this I thought of getting another easier one in response, I then tried 2 other instruments of PRC origin and of excellent quality, an A. Eastman and another whose brand I don't remember, easier in issue on the 5th, selected and sold by professionals in the sector, but they didn't convince me and I decided to give up and keep the Weril which, at the moment, I much prefer, although I am aware that it is a "difficult" instrument to manage. Now I am evaluating the possibility Of build myself 2 more efficient valves, rotax type, and replace them, from a series of evaluations and tests I believe that they are also partly the cause of the defect found. Finally, and here I will bring all the curses on myself, I think it is more fun than Bach, so much so that the latter seems to me to have become a toy. In short, in comparison to other instruments tested, in relation to the cost and without praising it too much, this is not my intention and for just over £1000 new, I consider it an exceptional instrument!! These are my impressions today after all this. Sorry, as my first ever post on the forum, I've gone on a bit too long. Thanks for your attention
