Hi- I am moving into an apartment but still want to practice my tenor and also. I currently have a Sshhmute for my tenor. What are you'all using for alto?

The tenor Best Brass fits well enough. Yamaha's old-style Silent Brass came in a version for alto trombone & flugelhorn that also works fine. I haven't tried the current version (the website calls it flugelhorn only).

I love the Rejano for my tenors, but had to return the Rejano alto mute I bought for my Bach 39. The mute was too large for the bell.
I haven’t tested any others yet.

Re: Alto practice mute
The problem with altos is that they are very very different in the bell throat.
I have a Ssssshmute for flugelhorn/alto that works well on my Weril alto and I think also on the Conn 35h, but doesn't fit at all on my Kanstul that has a substantially smaller throat. For that one I am using a Voigt flugelhorn mute.
Generally I find practice mutes on alto to have more negative impact on intonation and response than on tenor.

I play a Weril Alto and the Protec Liberty Practice mute works great for me. Nice even blow top to bottom
