Canadian Brass Trombone Info Search

Post by flaggavator »

Hi,
I am interested in help identifying and any information about mid-90s Canadian Brass trombones.
I own a model with a rose gold bell engraved with a "db" logo and "Canadian Brass" in script letters.
It has an F attachment, 6 1/2 AL mouth piece, and came with hard case with brass nameplate with the "Canadian Brass" script.
I think it was made by Getzen?
Thanks,
Kevin

Actually, the logo is a "cb" in a scriptish font where the c runs into the b.

Simple answer: yes, a mid-'90's Canadian Brass trombone would have been made by Getzen.

The whole Getzen/Allied Music/DEG/Edwards/Canadian Brass thing is best explained here:

Small shank or large shank?

Very similar to the later 725 bell section, though I think most the CBS were 547.

There were 2 different Canadian Brass models - one with a .547 bore slide and one with a .525/.547 dual bore. I had students that played each version.
