King Trombone Identification

Post by Starline »

Hello, this is my first post here.

I am located in germany and bought this trombone of a seller with no additional information on it. It seems similar to a King 606 Sp but I am not sure. Any help on the identification of the instrument would be greatly appreciated. I found the following numbers on the instrument:
On the bell: 12 112543
On the outer slide: 8054
On the slide receiver 2908

Hi and Welcome.

What you have given is not really enough to identify the instrument. A few pictures would help.

Right now, with only one post, you can't upload pictures to the site. If you can find somewhere else online to locate any pictures, you can post them using the IMG tags:

Hello Bruce,
thanks for approving the post. I added some pictures of the horn via imgur.

In my opinion that’s not a king trombone. It’s just a trombone with a king counterweight. No engravings on the bell. Even my old 606 has “King” engraved on the bell.
I’m not a collector, I just have too many trombones….
King 3B+ w/F attachment and gold brass bell. King Duo Gravis. Conn 6H. Conn 48H. Conn 10H. Conn 5G. Getzen 3508Y.

That is a unique water key, never saw one like that on a King.

I think Briande is correct. The serial number on my 606 is on the bell section near the mount. There are no other numbers. The counterweight says “king Cleveland”.
Anyway, just play it and enjoy it.
