I had an unexpected treat tonight. I was at a conference for work in Vegas. The entertainment they usually provide is charitably forgettable. Except this time. This time it was Earth Wind and Fire, live right there at a private concert for our convention.
Reggie Young on bone. The horn section played well all night. Strong and tight, just like EWF always plays.
I'm not sure what horn he was playing. It was silver on the bell outside, with some heavy engraving. Gold inside the bell. And a small round counterweight. No telltale signs like curved braces. I don't think it was one of those fancy Yamaha Batman counterweight. Maybe a Shires or M&W.
They had 3 of the original guys there, some of them looking perfectly geriatric, but still layin it down. These guys were great tonight. A fantastic performance. Really unforgetable. All to a bunch of overweight middle aged engineers.

Nice!
At least one of those middle aged engineers appreciated it!
