Clarinet Restoration Recommendation By Chance?

Post by olivegreenink »

Someone asked me for a recommendation for restoring a 100 year old clarinet. I just know brass lol. Does anyone have a trusted woodwind specialist? Instrument is in DC though I think they regularly wind up in NYC. Cheers

I'd recommend Aaron Barnard at https://www.barnardrepair.com/ in Cedar Rapids, IA. Fair prices and knows his stuff. I found a really nice 1973-ish Yamaha YTS-21 sax and he did a total repad/setup on it. I ended up with a killer horn for much less than what It was worth. Shipping a clarinet would not be too expensive either.
