Bass Tbn Mouthpieces
Looking for recommendations for a bass bone mouthpiece that works well for a doubler. Main axe is tenor, but occasionally playing shows that require tenor and bass bone. I've been using a Bach 2G but don't quite get the bite that I want on the low stuff. Thanks.

How much daily practice do you do on the bass?
1.5 or 2 are the most popular sizes for a reason

Check out the Patrick BG1 mouthpiece. Is great for just this.

1.5G, if you play a Griego and are used to their rim styles, Brian Hechts “the dub” is a great option

Elliott SB106 or SB107 with an SB I cup and an I10 shank! Tons of bite but easy to play.

There is no "one size that fits all" recommendation for you, but something that is about the size of a Bach 1½G is a good start.
For a variety of reasons, Bach - even though it's the best known brand - isn't for everyone. I prefer similar-sized mouthpieces (Cup I.D. ~27.0-27.4mm = ~1.06"-1.08"; Throat ~7.0-7.5mm = ~0.275"-0.295") from other manufacturers, and - as a doubler myself - lately have been very pleased with a Doug Elliott setup in that size range (MB 108 Rim, MB J Cup, J8 Shank). Others that I have liked include Giardinelli 1G and Schilke 58.
